E-signature envelope

An e-signature envelope is one contract sent for signature on Anakin: a PDF plus its signers, field positions, signing order, expiry, and a tamper-evident audit trail. Once sent it is locked; changes require voiding and starting a new envelope.

What is an e-signature envelope?

An envelope is the container for a single signing. It holds the document, the list of signers (each with email, name, company, and job title), the field layout, the signing order, and an expiry. It moves through draft, sent, and then completed, declined, or voided.

What happens after it is sent?

It is locked. Each signer receives a private invite link and signs at a standalone page. Owners can remind signers, extend the expiry, or void the envelope. Completed envelopes carry document hashes, a hash-chained event log, an HMAC seal, and a certificate of completion.

What is it not?

It is not a qualified electronic signature, and it is built for business-to-business agreements rather than consumer contracts.
