Connecting and Using Integrations with Your Agents

Learn how to connect your favorite business tools (like Notion, LinkedIn, Slack, HubSpot, and Google Workspace) to your AI agents to automate workflows.

Connecting and Using Integrations with Your Agents

To make your AI agents act as true digital employees, you can connect them to the software tools your team already uses. This guide covers how to link integrations, what each connected tool allows your agents to do, and how to maintain complete control over agent actions.

1. How to Connect an Integration

Linking a new tool to your workspace is simple and takes just a few clicks:

1. Navigate to the Settings page in your dashboard.

2. Click the Integrations tab.

3. Browse the list of available tools (e.g., Notion, Slack, HubSpot, Gmail).

4. Click Connect on the tool you wish to link.

5. Log in through the secure portal and authorize the requested permissions.

Once connected, the integration is available across your workspace and can be used by any agent you authorize.

> [!NOTE]

> B2B lead search and web search/scrape tools are built directly into the platform as native capabilities. They work out-of-the-box using platform fallback credentials, so they do not require manual API key configuration or setup in the Integrations tab.

2. Supported Integrations and Capabilities

Connecting a tool enables your agent to perform specific actions during customer chats or background tasks:

💬 Communication & Collaboration

  • Slack: The agent can post status updates, send alerts to public channels, and share summaries directly to your team workspace.
  • Gmail: The agent can read incoming client emails, draft replies, and send outreach emails on your behalf.

📝 Productivity & Knowledge

  • Notion: The agent can search your wikis for answers, insert database records, or append new notes to workspace pages.
  • Google Sheets: The agent can read sheets, log customer details, and append new rows to tracking spreadsheets.
  • Google Drive: The agent can access project files, download documents for context, and upload newly generated reports.
  • Google Calendar: The agent can read your schedule to check availability and create invites for new client meetings.

📈 Business Operations & CRM

  • HubSpot: The agent can create contacts, log details from client chats, and register sales deals in your pipeline.
  • Salesforce: The agent can register new sales leads from incoming inquiries.
  • LinkedIn: The agent can draft and post status updates directly to your personal profile or company page.

3. Controlling Agent Actions (Human-in-the-Loop)

Allowing an AI agent to take action in the real world requires trust. Anakin gives you complete control over what your agents can do without supervision.

Approval Gates

When you enable an action-oriented tool (like sending an email, booking a calendar invite, or posting to LinkedIn), you can configure it to require owner approval:

1. The agent decides to take an action (e.g., sending a client follow-up email).

2. Instead of sending it immediately, the agent pauses execution.

3. A pending task alert appears in your Dashboard Inbox showing exactly what the agent wants to do.

4. You can review, edit, approve, or reject the action.

5. Once approved, the agent completes the task and continues its workflow.

This ensures that nothing goes out to your clients or channels without your explicit consent.
